Interior home decoration can be an exciting experience. By choosing the right interior home decoration, you can not only make your home more functional but aesthetically appealing as well. Essentially, decoration is an art that needs creativity and time. However, it doesn’t need to cost a fortune if you’re willing to think outside of the box and be inventive. A simple flower made from some beads and fabric can go a long way in making your apartment more stylish.

Also, on this list are things like crafting items, repurposing items you already own, and making your apartment feel more like home. These inexpensive ways of decorating make it easy for anyone with limited finances to upgrade their apartment with little effort.

01 of 05 Cut flowers for a simple way to add colour

Flowers are an inexpensive way to add height and colour to your apartment space without buying any big pieces. The possibilities are endless, but here are a couple of simple ways to go about it.

Choose a flower that is fairly durable, like a cactus or ice plant, and trim it down to size with scissors. Take the stem completely off the flower, leaving only the leaves behind. Then, glue the cut stems to Styrofoam or cardboard flowers using basic crafting glue or wallpaper glue. The cheapest way to do this is by using what you already have around your apartment. Use glue to attach small circle fabric pieces all over the flower’s leaves for a more realistic look. For an added effect, get a thin piece of wooden dowel at your local craft store and cut it to size. This will give the glue some extra support while you’re working on your floral arrangement. Paint just a little bit of green around some flower petals to complete this charming arrangement.

02 of 05 Hang a paper chandelier

Chandeliers are a great item to enhance the appeal of your interior home decoration. However, it can be quite expensive. Instead of buying an expensive chandelier from a store, you can consider making a paper chandelier and hanging it in your room. This is a great project that just requires some time and supplies that can be found in the market for very little money if you do not have them already. Also, make sure that you do not make a chandelier that appears too big or too small for the room. Always choose a chandelier that looks proportional to the size of your room. Moreover, do not hang a long chandelier if you do not have a high ceiling.

03 of 05 Repurpose old suitcases

If you have an old suitcase and some brass nails, you can make a beautiful and sturdy headboard for your bed in no time at all for your interior home decoration. All you need to do is use the nails to attach the suitcases together, one on top of the other, and then glue them to a board that’s about two inches wide. Then add small pieces of cork on the bottom of each suitcase (don’t worry–they’ll stick easily). From there, you can paint it any colour you’d like and lift it up for storage when it’s not in use.

This interior design for flatsis a great idea. Paint some small patterned pillows with Mod Podge (furniture paint), and then let them dry. Once they’re dry, sand off the top coat of Mod Podge to give the pillows a textured look. You can also add some more patterns on your pillow after this step by painting on top of the sanded area.
